newtown.

Friday was a terrible day in America, but also China.  There was also a mass murder at a school there with a guy a knife.  It seems like our world is in complete turmoil right now.  The Middle East always seems like it could break into a huge war at the drop of a hat.  Israel and Iran are always on edge. Americas economy is teetering on this "fiscal cliff." Our world seems to be in complete shambles right now.

One amazing thing to see as a result of this tragedy in Newtown, CT was the outpouring of love and also people turning to God in prayer.  But why now? Why does it require the murder of 20 first graders and 6/7 adults for people to fur back to God? Why does it take this senseless loss of life to drive people back to church?  We saw this same thing after September 11, 2001.  Our world was in turmoil and people were beating down the doors of the church, and it lasted a month or so and most were gone again. Now they come back.  We should not have to wait until a terrible thing to happen in our country to turn to God. Like I said Friday, "God hasn't left us, He hasn't gone anywhere.  He hasn't turned His back on us."  God will work in this terrible tragedy.  It breaks my heart to see this young children die, my niece Kylee is the same age as these kids.  I don't know what I would do if it was her that was murdered.  But God is in control and that is an amazing feeling.

As you get with your family this next week for Christmas be sure to tell them how much you love them.  When you are out shopping show the love of Christ in your actions and demeanor.  People are always watching.
